Up2what is a small publishing site. This policy explains what information the site collects, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: reading is anonymous, and the site collects only what it needs to let writers publish.
If you are reading
You can read everything on Up2what without an account. The site does not run advertising, does not use analytics or tracking scripts, and does not set cookies for readers who are not signed in.
Information you give us
- Waitlist applications. Your name, email address, and whatever you choose to tell us about why you want to write here.
- Writer accounts. Your email address, username, display name, and a securely hashed password, plus an optional bio and avatar. Your username, display name, bio and avatar are shown publicly next to what you publish.
- Content. Posts, drafts, and any images, audio or video you upload. Published posts are public.
- Follows. If you follow a writer while signed in, that is recorded against your account.
Information collected automatically
Like any website, the servers that deliver Up2what process technical information with each request, such as IP address, browser type, and the page requested. This is used to keep the site running and to protect it from abuse.
When you sign in, the site sets a single session cookie so you stay signed in. It is not used for tracking or advertising.
How information is used
- To run the site and display published content.
- To review waitlist applications and manage writer accounts.
- To contact you about your application or account.
- To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Service providers
Up2what is hosted on Cloudflare, which stores the site's data and handles traffic on our behalf. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google when you view a page. These providers process information under their own privacy policies.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of the site and the people who use it.
How long information is kept
Account information and content are kept for as long as the account exists. Waitlist applications are kept while they are under review and for a reasonable period afterwards. You can ask for your information to be deleted at any time.
Your choices
Writers can update their profile from the dashboard and can edit or delete their own posts. To access, correct, or delete the information we hold about you, or to close your account, email [email protected]. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy law, and we will honor valid requests.
Children
Up2what is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
